Wild Edric is proud of its reputation for always giving a good nights entertainment, whether it be a wedding ceilidh, traditional ceilidh or a party.
Four in the band have been Morris dancers in and around Shropshire, three of whom, also did Appalachian step dancing with a team that had achievements at a national level.
Musicians in bands are not always dancers, so, an awareness of the needs out on the floor is an advantage. For instance we adjust the music tempo to suit a slippery floor and we assess the physical fitness, particularly in a varied age wedding group, so that nobody comes to harm.
Even when an event isn’t what we expected, we still endeavour to send folks home happy. That makes the organisers happy too. We don’t sit back and talk or read while The Caller sorts the dancers out, we stay engaged throughout the walkthrough and also play between dances while the dancers catch their breath.
When not gigging with WILD EDRIC, we deputize in other bands or can regularly be found playing in jam sessions.
